A Lunar Venture Handmade creates handcrafted textiles made in the USA that embody a minimal, current aesthetic while remaining true to comfort. Pieces are designed by textile designer and weaver Lauren Ventura. The line is continuously influenced by her home in Miami, Florida.  Miami’s art deco style, temperate ocean scenery, and deeply rooted Cuban culture never cease to inspire. These layers of the city’s vivacity set the tone in color and style for each design.

Individually dyed, hand-woven, or printed, each textile is created to serve a function while engaging the owner with design and comfort. Weaving is an especially important part of the making process, because while it speaks to the meticulous and methodical maker, it leaves room for serendipitous variations that make each handmade object unique. A Lunar Venture Handmade takes pride in the making of pieces that are lively and practical at the same time. We create textiles to enhance the already beautiful everyday, and to withstand every obstacle it throws at us.

Lauren Ventura is a passionate maker with an interest in creating long-lasting, fine home textiles that can be appreciated for years to come. She started A Lunar Venture Handmade in 2013 with the intention of bringing these kinds of textiles to those who share her vision. As a first-generation American raised in an immigrant household, she learned to value quality design and durability in products. Lauren holds a BFA in Fiber from the Kansas City Art Institute.
